I don’t agree with this. Having only yourself should be empowering. This is the only body, mind, and soul you’ve got. Use it wisely and be strong enough with it before you pull other people in the fray. Independence is never a bad thing.

Some people don’t move immediately from this realization to feelings of empowerment. Sometimes it takes time. That’s okay, too. You have to let people grapple with themselves. That’s how a lot of learning happens.

Not to mention the part where this isn’t a comic about your personal experiences, so I don’t get why you “agreeing” with this is at all relevant.
